10 January @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Here’s a note from our Trustee’s regarding our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 10th January. It’s an important one, so please do come and join us.
I have pleasure in forwarding to you the agenda for Adventure Dolphin’s(AD) Annual General Meeting (AGM) that will take place on Thursday 10th January 2019, 7.30pm for 8pm start, in the main hall at Dolphin House. The minutes from last year’s meeting and our Trustees report are in the links below attached for your reference.
This is an important meeting for AD as we are in the process of taking over the full responsibility and management of the building (Dolphin House) from West Berkshire Council – in addition to operating all the programmes and club activities that we deliver from the Centre.
As you are aware, our decision to take on the running of the Centre was an important one, made at our EGM in March (2018). This changed our status from being a charity that hired the building for our club’s use at a cost of £16k per year to us paying all the bills £42k per year.
It was a challenging and daunting undertaking, but the alternative was for the Council to close the building down and it board up, which would have also resulted in us disbanding all of our clubs. So, please do come and support us and have your say as we take the next step in our development.
As part of that process, the charity would like to recruit additional trustees with the following skills:
- Charity Commission Liaison
- Strategy and development
- Fundraising – making applications to grant awarding bodies
- Local Community profile and involvement
- General Membership Secretary
Please do let us know if you are interested in volunteering to join us as a Trustee, and don’t forget to come along to find out how we propose to organise ourselves to meet the challenge. This is your chance to help us plan for the future to create a Club that delivers what we want – after all, it is your Centre!
We will distribute our business plan after Christmas, giving you time to review the document prior to the meeting.
