|Activity / Description of the Trip:||British canoeing FSRT Course.
If you’re looking to develop your safety and rescue skills in a sheltered water environment, this one day practical course introduces the key skills needed for you to operate safely and deal with common emergencies. This course covers general theory and planning, as well as bank-based and boat-based rescues. This course is open to all paddlers, coaches and volunteers, in any craft or discipline, with a boat-based or bank-based option, giving you the opportunity and support to develop your safety skills.
Must be 14 years and over.Please can candidates bring their BC membership number and club membership cardAttending this course will extend a coach’s CPD validity for a period of 18 months.

|Equipment needed:||This practical course involves time spent in the water acting as a rescuer and as the “victim”. Candidates frequently find that they get cold and need to wear more layers than would be usual for a standard paddling session. If you have a dry suit or wet suit please bring it. Otherwise lots of layers and definitely put a cag on (available to borrow). If you have throw lines, slings and carabiners, please bring them. Please bring your usual paddling craft. Helmets not compulsory, but advised.|
