Lee Valley White Water Centre – Coached Trip

|Activity / Description of the Trip:||A two hour coached session on the Legacy Loop.
There will be two levels :
Participants should state which level they are at.
|Environment:||Grade 2/3 moving water|
|Type of Paddle:||No experience of moving water needed for the Introduction level. Some experience of moving water needed for the Progression level.|
|Pre-requisites :||Experience of paddling on flat water for the Introduction level. Experience of paddling in a Grade 2/3 environment for the Progression level.|
|Who is leading the activities? :||A Coach/White Water Leader from Rock The Boat Activities.|
|Additional Leaders or coaches :||There may be more than one Coach/White Water Leader from Rock The Boat Activities.|

|Transport details:||Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
Please note that it is normally expected that particpants make their own way to and from the trip start and finish. For trips away from Pangbourne our trips usally start at the river or at an agreed meeting point en route. If you have difficulties arranging your own transport please contact the trip leader to see if a lift can be arranged.
However, we cannot guarantee that lifts are available.
It is expected that anyone receiving a lift will contribute to transport costs.
If anyone can offer a lift please contact the trip leader.
Please also note that for safeguarding reasons it is AD policy to have more than two people in a vehicle if someone is under 18 (unless a relative).
|Equipment needed:||AD membership
AD Medical and Consent form should be completed and handed to trip leader at the meeting point.The Lee Valley Safety and Risk Declaration form should also be completed and handed to trip leader at the meeting point.Participants under 18 must have form signed by parent or guardian.No form, no paddleSuitable canoe or kayak. Needs to be fitted with buoyancy bags or blocks. If hiring a boat please discuss suitability with trip leader.
Helmets must be worn.
Clothing suitable for winter paddling conditions – this includes suitable footwear. Gloves, pogies (not ponies!) as necessary.
Personal medication to be carried and the leader informed. (Note – carrying a laminated list of medication and personal details is useful)
|Potential Cost :||Transport cost for private vehicles – fuel, parking. Shared costs if sharing transport.
£40 for a two hour coached session.
There should be four people per group
Please note the two hour session would involve time on the water from 11.30 to 12.30.
Then more time on the water from 13.30 to 14.30.
Participants would need to state when they book whether they are Introduction or Progression.
The minimum age is twelve. Please note parents of children must stay on site at Lee Valley throughout the activity.
